Server rooms & small data centres

A corporate server room needs stable and backup AC. We cover comfort AC and complementary cooling for small rooms < 20 kW, in coordination with specialised precision-cooling providers. Contact us for a contract or intervention.

AC services for server rooms and small technical rooms

Moroccan SMEs and mid-market companies run in-house server rooms of limited size: one or two racks for company applications, a call centre, an ERP server, or a small telecom room. These rooms are not professional Tier-3/4 data centres but need a stable thermal environment (18–27°C per ASHRAE equipment recommendations) to avoid service interruption or hardware degradation. **Sengo strictly covers in this sector: HVAC de confort et refroidissement complémentaire pour salles serveurs de petite taille (< 20 kW), en coordination avec les fournisseurs de refroidissement de précision spécialisés.** We are not a CRAC/CRAH precision-cooling supplier and we do not design N+1 architectures or DCIM; that is not our specialty. However, the surrounding AC (office, adjacent room, small telecom room), the complementary AC that offloads the main system, and responsiveness on an ordinary split failure in a small room — that is our scope. Sengo operates from Marrakech and covers 9 regions with 13 technicians and 4 vehicles, on splits, cassettes and ducted units (Daikin, Mitsubishi Electric, Carrier, LG, Trane).

Common issues

  • Server-room AC failing at night or over the weekend
  • Thermal stress pushing equipment outside the safe range
  • No backup AC in case of primary failure
  • Aging, power-hungry AC equipment
  • No regular preventive maintenance

Equipment and systems we service

Splits and cassettes for small server rooms

Wall splits and cassettes (Daikin, Mitsubishi Electric, LG, Carrier) at 3.5–12 kW cooling, sometimes in a doubled setup for failover. Reinforced maintenance on filters and condensers due to 24/7 operation.

Ducted systems for small rooms

Ducted systems (Carrier, Daikin, Trane) with slightly higher capacity for rooms beyond single-rack. Maintenance on ductwork, filters and outdoor condensers.

Backup and peripheral AC

Backup units activating on primary failure or thermal peak. AC for annex rooms (patchords, UPS, telecom). Periodic maintenance to ensure availability.

Surrounding office AC

Offices next to the server room often share the same corporate AC systems. Routine maintenance on splits and ducted systems to ensure comfort for the technical staff who visit the room.

Regulatory context and industry standards

Server rooms in Morocco are not subject to specific cooling regulation (no legal obligation of CRAC or a given Tier for private companies). However, companies in regulated sectors (finance, telecom, health) may be required to meet continuity (BCP/DRP) expectations recommending minimum backup AC. Law 09-08 on personal-data protection sets general responsibility on processing security, of which cooling is part. Refrigerant handling (R410A, R32) is regulated. Invoicing is issued with ICE and RC. International standards (ASHRAE TC 9.9 for server-room environment, Uptime Institute Tier) are professional references not legally binding in Morocco but cited in professional contracts. This backdrop shows that most Moroccan SME/mid-market server rooms run on ordinary AC systems properly maintained, without needing precision cooling.

Typical interventions we see in this sector

Generic examples to show the nature of the work, with no client disclosure.

Server-room AC failing on a summer Sunday

IT receives a central alert on thermal drift. The call to the provider is top priority. The technician goes on site, diagnoses the common fault (capacitor, fan, compressor thermal protection), activates a backup line if present or swaps a part quickly. The service-shutdown decision remains with the systems manager.

Annual preventive maintenance on a small server room

The company books an annual review in May: filter cleaning, condenser checks, backup-unit testing, leak search, thermostat adjustment. Closed with a written report added to the company's DR/BCP file.

Coordination with the incumbent precision-cooling provider

A company has a main precision-cooling unit maintained by a specialised provider and needs intervention on peripheral or backup AC. Sengo works only within its scope and respects boundaries with the precision-cooling provider without contractual overlap.

Seasonality and year-round needs

Server rooms run 24/7 year-round, with stable internal thermal load (driven by equipment consumption, not directly by outdoor climate). But AC systems clearly suffer in summer (July–August) when outdoors exceeds 40°C in Marrakech, Fès, Béni Mellal — outdoor condensers run at full load and failure risk rises. Other sensitive periods are weekends and holidays when no one is on site to catch a fault quickly. Ramadan changes staff office-presence hours. Major review is scheduled in May before summer, with a November check. Summer emergencies on server rooms are top-priority because internal drift is very fast.

Why a contract beats one-off call-outs

A maintenance contract on an SME/mid-market server room protects business continuity at controlled cost: every hour of ERP or call-centre downtime is a productivity loss. Preventive visits before summer catch faults before peak, and condenser and filter maintenance keeps performance stable. Weekend or holiday priority is guaranteed. Written reports support the company's business-continuity file (BCP/DRP). Sengo offers contract tiers suited to companies with small server rooms, with flexibility on off-hours windows. Boundaries are perfectly clear: we cover HVAC de confort et refroidissement complémentaire pour salles serveurs de petite taille (< 20 kW); for precision-cooling equipment we coordinate with a specialised provider without overlap.

Frequently asked questions

Any other question? Send us a message on WhatsApp.

Do you service precision-cooling systems (CRAC/CRAH) and N+1 architectures?
No. We are not a precision-cooling specialist and don't claim to be. We cover comfort AC and complementary cooling for rooms < 20 kW; for professional Tier-3/4 data centres, please contact a specialised provider.
Which rooms are in our scope?
A small-to-mid corporate server room under 20 kW (single or double-rack), AC in the call-centre office, backup AC for an adjacent technical room.
Do you coordinate with the existing precision-cooling provider?
Yes, we handle the surrounding AC and coordinate with the precision-cooling provider without overlapping their scope.
